Each one of our songs are definitely themselves and have their own feeling and moment they slip into nicely.

3. What inspired you as an artist?

The list is endless. We each individually live on separate sides of the musical world which might be why we work so well together. Tom has heavy influences from The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Pixies, My Bloody Valentine, Fiona Apple, when it comes to songwriting and how he chooses his melodies to sing. Zak has a very wide taste. Anything from Black Country New Road to Ebi Soda to Rage Against The Machine. His knowledge of music is great. Luke brings the mainstream appeal to our songs with his love for pop. He usually listens to what the rest of turn off but without his songwriting god knows where we’d be. He takes inspiration from the 1975, Inhaler, Oasis, among other things. Collectively we all find love in bands like Fontaines DC, Been Stellar and Wunderhorse and definitely make similar music.

4. What Is Your Pre-Show Routine? Do you have any Diva demands?

No diva demands just yet… once we’ve soundchecked we usually just relax with mates or go and get a Mcdonalds or burrito or something. Our band photographer, Sam James, is usually with us for the gig so we often take the opportunity to find somewhere decent for some photos.

5. Where do you feel you fit into the music landscape?

We are slipping our way into the scene of Fontaines DC, Wunderhorse, Been Stellar, Keo, English Teacher with our own experimental twist as every band here does. As long as people like our music, feel free to chuck us into any category you’d like.

6: What are your favourite musical genres, and are there any you dislike?

As a band, we cover nearly every genre with our liking but we have to say that anything too emo or modern indie gets us throwing our radios out the window.

7. Is there a story behind the band’s name ?

We sat brainstorming for a long time and had some awful names. Tom was listening to the song “The Weaver” - Paul Weller and thought “why don’t we abbreviate the name?”

8. What would you say is your greatest strength as an Band?

We bounce off of eachother very easily. In our early days we used to write a riff and let Tom solo over it for 10 minutes in a very Stone Roses inspired way. We could improvise with each other for days on end.

9. What would you say is your greatest weakness as an Band?

We write a ridiculous amount of songs which can get stressful. Right now we have 15 set-worthy originals sorted and we’ve scrapped about 10 in the last few months. Keeping track and on top of those songs gets very difficult.

10. What can fans expect from your new single ‘ Live Static Broadcast ’

When we released it, one fan said we’d served up a three course meal which actually sums it up quite well. Lead track ‘I Know’ is full throttle alt-rock, second track Drowner is a bit more technical and riff-led. Firefly, the dessert if you like, is a slower, calmer song with nice open chords.

11. What music artists would you say have influenced your work?

We have too many to just put a single artist so we’ll just say one each. Tom - The Smashing Pumpkins. Luke - Fontaines DC and Zak - David Bowie. So far with the songs released Wunderhorse and Fiona Apple definitely play a part in the writing process but currently sat on over 20 songs so it’s quite hard to just put a few artists down.

12. Who would you most like to collaborate with artistically?

The list is endless but some strange collaboration of Weave and Garbage would be brilliant, making a techno alternative anthem album. Experimenting with the different styles of writing, structure and tone from singers would be very interesting. We’d love that,

13. What was your worst performance?

Not so much our worst, but the weirdest was a gig at Green Room in Sheffield last October. The stage at the venue is in front of the large window along the front of the bar. Just before we were due to come on, the manager of the venue announced a 9pm curfew and all under 18s had to leave which decimated the crowd. With the stage being against the window, a crowd gathered outside so we spent the gig turning round to play to them through the window whilst also playing to the crowd left in the bar. There was a mini mosh pit in the street… and as if that wasn’t surreal enough, a guy off the street came into the venue, grabbed the mic and started jamming a reggae/ dub vocal over the top of one of our heavier songs. It worked in a weird kind of way.

14: What was the most difficult obstacle you have ever faced and how did you overcome it?

We have many obstacles within the band with the distance between us all individually (where we live) and where we practice. We have very different tastes in music making the writing process sometimes difficult. But overall, the most difficult is finding the right guitarist who works well with us which we’ve struggled to find. Louie is doing a cracking job filling in as of this moment.

15: What is your creative process when making music. Do you work with others or is there just you?

We’ve all got other projects that we’re involved in, but when we write stuff that sounds like it fits Weave we save it for a band meeting. We then sit down and listen through stuff and it either gets kept or binned. Luke brings a much more maximalist sound with melodies on top off synth and sounds to be recreated, it’s written through his playstation funnily enough but Tom usually writes with his guitar with lots of pedal work so it’s very easy to tell who wrote what from our songs. Tom writes all the lyrics though.

16: Where do you see your musical career in 10 years?

None of us know for sure where music will take us but we all could only imagine ourselves with a job within the industry no matter what it is. If all goes well then we might have a few albums released.

17:Your Top 3 Overrated Musicians, who when you hear them you think ‘ How The Fk………….. ?

We’ve all got different tastes so it’s difficult, as a band, to give an answer we’d all agree on. However, if a Coldplay song comes on the radio it doesn’t make it past the opening 2 bars.

Welcome to our official store for our physical releases.
